And that's why I carry a yardstick Mr. Big. Thanks for filling in the details. I knew it was a big girl when you said The Tangler messed up the rigs of three Wiley veterans. Keep posting- you have a knack for it- a gift really. (-:

Yesterday was another great day for visiting with a nice group of guys in the dock. Fishin was pretty good too. Green/orange hair jig slayed 'em.

Fished Blackwell this morning with a friend who has never fished for crappie before. What a great morning for a first timer. We got there around 6am and there was 2 other people that had beat us there. We fished until 7 am without a bite, but then at around 730 the bite began to turn on. It was hit and miss for a while but then I started using a purple and green jig (pic attached) and adding some SlabSlobber (www.malcomslabslobber.com) to my jig and it seemed to make all the difference. The bite was pretty constant and between the two of us, we caught roughly 120 fish and kept 74. The biggest was 14". When we left there was a total of 7 guys fishing in the fish house, was not crowded at all.

The best bite has been about first light or just after and generally slows down around 9:30, when the crowd starts to clear out. Sometimes you have to get there before 5:00 to get a spot, and wear elbow pads. If you are not a patient person, don't go in the early morning. As I posted above, one guy's fish got tangled with three other lines. One of my friends gets there at 4:00 to get his favorite spot. Most days, you can catch fish most of the rest of the day, although many people will get somewhere from zero to ten fish. Minnows, plastic and hand-tied are all working.
Good luck (or maybe it's good skill)!

Fished Blackwell again this morning. Got a late start, didnt get there until 8am and was worried i wouldnt have a spot to fish but suprising there was only 3 cars in the lot and only 5 guys in the fish house. dropped a jig by 8:05 and the fishing was on fire. Limited out by 9:15. using purple and green jigs and SlabSlobber. I was catching 5 fish to everyones 1. gave SlabSlobber to others there and they started tearing up the fish. Great morning.

Just curious?? Is it more crowded in the evenings or is there an evening bite?
