We are using minnows on Eufaula and Gibson right now, the fish are right on the bottom. I took an old Coleman ice chest drilled a hole in the top to run the air tube through it worked great. We used a pound of minnows Sat probably caught 70, drop shotting in 30 mph winds this was on Gibson though. It's clearing a little around Osage cove. You can stick your hand in the water and see it barely at 6".
    That's a 100% improvement from a week ago.

Thanks for the tip Tim, but I'm more interested in the process you went through to find them there. You see I would like to be one of those guys who can catch a few crappie almost every time I go out. I have 4 grandsons ages 3-12 that love to fish with pawpaw and I would like to teach them the thrill of the "thump-thump". I do ok in spring like everybody does and catch a few in winter when they gather up but the rest of the year I struggle. I have the tools (boat. electronics etc...) but I need the knowledge. and by the way what are "unweighted teasers"?

Earlier in the week the water on the river arm was quite a bit clearer then the rest of the lake. At Washunga it was so muddy you could track a coon across it. LOL

Kenny here is an example of unweighted crappie teasers. Been using drop shots for a lot of years. When most people drop shot they put their hooks close to the main line with a smaller loop. This works most of the time but doesn't allow the minnows to have much movement. With a larger loop, like 2 to 3 inches, this allows the minnow some room to swim. That's where the unweighted crappie teasers work the best. With no weight, the minnow can still swim. They are great for spider riggin to. As the water temp drops, I use the smaller loops to limit movement. I haven't used this particular brand but I did talk to Donald @ crappie Logic and he hand ties all his in any color combination you want. I believe he charges 45.00 for a 60 pack in your color choice. I am getting ready to place an order with him. I am kinda old school but fish most of the time for quality fish over quantity unless my wife or granddaughters are with me. I would rather catch 10 big fish over 100 small ones.

I use to tie some like that for below the dam. I agree on quality fish over quantity of fish except when the grandkids are along and even then it's fun to see them catch a biggun once in a while.

Shane you are probably out of luck. A lot of people are deer hunting and firearms season starts this Saturday. The ones I have talked to that have fished recently said it was really slow.
