Fished today with client Chuck Purtey. We started early at 7:30 working our way up almost to Carter's. I can say today the river area wasn't where you needed to be. At 11:30 we had 13 crappie and only 3 of those coming above the bridge. Was a cloudy morning with Light North Winds early. Finesse fishing at its best early. Vertical and extremely slow. If you felt a resistance you had better jerk no thumps early. As soon as the sun broke from the clouds and the wind shifted to SW it was on like donkey kong. We fished only 2 more piles and had our limit. Closed the LW lids at 2pm and caught and released till 3:30. 2 man limit and never measured a single fish since all were quality. BoneHead 7' Light Action Carbon Fiber Rods, BoneHead Slim Sticks, Mikes Custom Baits, and Slab Bandits in Salt n Pepper, Pearl/Chartreuse, Pearl, and Pumpkin/Chartreuse. Coupled with 6lb Hi Vis Mono and Timmy Tom Weedless Jigs. WT was 57 early and rose to 63 before leaving. DOW today was 12' to 20' on wood........Ranger
