as far as the the DARK SIDE I'm not sure for the simple fact I don't know what that actually means.I can tell You I have fished since the age of 5 and am now 45.I have nothing but the upmost respect for any fishery because I have seen the consequenses of poor management,overharvesting and just flat out dumb abuse of great places.I love the game,I have 2 young children now(6&2) which are getting in to it also and strive to do nothing but have them enjoy the sport and learning of it and respect our natural resources.Fishing is a God given gift and if you can't respect that fact and show respect for what you are given you should find a different way to spend your time.as far as cj,I still love the place,appreciate all of your guys work and will do nothing but try to help.I fish to catch fish,and yes at times I keep fish,but overall I know what is right and wrong and will do whatever I can to help or maintain what we have.Looking forward to meeting some of you guys and fishing this winter anyhow.I do enjoy ice fishing and hoping to get on the main lake again this year.Greatly appreciate all of your efforts towards the growth of the lake.and yes,i enjoy fishing for all species.

If you have any questions about Mother CJ, there's alot of Elderly Knowledge on here....several of us watched her being built....Some I think, havebeen around since CREATION!

We jokingly and lovingly refer to Kitty Kat Lovers (Catfish only guys) As the "Dark Siders"! Seems that they love to Catch Cats, but won't eat them....I've been trying unsuccessfully to get them to start taking home and eating some of those delicious 1-2 pound Channels to thin the population....this way the Channels will get bigger and I'll stop catching the darn things!!! lol

Like yourself, I am also an older Father....My son was born when I was close to 41...he is 13 now, and THANK GOD, SINCE I AM OLDER, I HAVE THE PATIENCE TO DEAL WITH HIM ...don't panic if they stop fishing for awhile when they are older, their world is hectic and faster paced than ours!
My son had a goal to catch his first Gator this year...in the Spring he caught 2, and then hardly fished again the rest of the year...he was satisfied!lol
Now it's All Football/Sports, cars, and girls....the nut didn't fall far from the tree!lol

Since the "Powers That Be" are now adamant that we do what is NOT in their own long term vs their own short sighted short term `best interests` will simply have to make `other arrangements`. This will probably dictate a reduction in overall quantity that giving more attention to QUALITY will have to make up that difference...assembly will obviously have to be done elsewhere, and to avoid any potential "Imperial entanglements" will probably need to be done both stealthily and rapidly, preferably under circumstances with as few (or ideally NO ) potential witnesses as possible...this can and has been done before.

It's time for us to just to sit back and enjoy the fruit of our labors....we have enough permanent stuff and long lasting wood in CJ to last most of our kids lifetime. Now CJ needs vegetation and hopefully "Mother Nature" and her friends, load her up ...that would tie everything together!
We don't need others to get in trouble or get hurt...as we know, there are "Friend's" who continue to do good work out of the spot-light, so CJ will be fine....enjoy all the knowledge and friendships that the projects provided.
The stance of the ODNR, etc, goes to show how shortsighted they are and why our waterways, parks, etc, are such a mess....maybe the next generation of officials will worry more about the environment instead of making a name for themselves.
Anyway....just enjoy what we did, and the memories of transforming a lake....we all were part of something great....and all who participated should be proud.
We will still have our "get togethers" and cleanups...and if you ever get done with that 10 yr basement project, you can start fishing with us again!

He's worrying me Fritz...he's been sitting in that basement for 10 years sniffing those fumes....maybe it's one of those diseases due to lack of sunshine and fishing. ...just sayin! lol
