I am not necessarily looking for a diesel. There are tons of trucks on Craig's list that are within a few hours of me, and since quite a few are diesel I didn't want to automatically rule them out. But I definitely need to avoid something that will be high maintenance--so no 6.0 Powerstroke for me, thank you Rees. I keep coming back to this F250 7.3. It's not in my budget, but my ex might be in a position to float me a loan if I find something worthy of taking on debt.
That's a nice one and you will be proud of that 7.3, mine got 18.6 mpg the last fill up, its an f250 as well but not near in thar good a shape. Mine just turned over 311000 miles

I asked myself, but I didn't know the answer. So are you saying that even if it's running properly, a diesel engine will cost more to maintain? Is there any offset, like better gas mileage, the engines last longer, anything?

It's not a Ford or a diesel, but how about this one, Rees? 2001 Toyota Tundra 4 door TRD 4x4 Automatic

Here's one you won't see everyday,,, But she's a real looker, and comes with a smoking nice cummins engine ,,,It's a Diamond T 404 and I believe she's a 1936 model...she's for sale, but more like 34,000....which is a small price to pay for a piece of American history....

That is a lovely truck, Takeum, but about as practical for me as it would be affordable.

how about a custom 72 Chevy Blazer K5... What makes this one custom is what's inside,,, another Cummins engine with all the goodies,,,,still taking bids on this one at around 16,000 right now,,,a little over budget too,,, Might have to do like I did, suck it up and buy a older s10 blazer and put a V8 in yours instead of the 4.3 that most came with,,,a lot of fun to drive and you'd even have money left over for toys for your boat,,,

My boat. Hahaha. The Lacrosse chest waders I bought last month are my biggest fishing investment so far. Canebreaker had about talked me into saving up for a kayak, but this will put that idea to rest.
