My inside rod would be a bnm 410... Can't beat that lil rod for the money for pulling cranks.. Right now I'm set up with a 410, a 10 footer then a 14.. Thinking about buying planer boards and using all 410s honestly

A lot depends on how many poles you can and want to run. If pulling off the side and 4 poles I would do the 2 8's and 2 12's.. Off the back and say 6 poles I'd run 2 each 8-10-12 and stager. Like Ducker I have 2 of the little 410 rods and I run them as inside off the rear and sides which ever I am doing that day. Just look at your finances and buy according to what you can afford. Do not let all the chatter on here get you to over complicate this for you. My neighbor catches as many crappie as anyone I know pulling cranks. He uses 6 cheap spinning rods and cheap spinning reels nothing complicated about his system. He will throw a bait out as far as he can then 4 arm length pulls of line puts it in the holder and catches fish.

Hard to beat the West Point Crappie Rod from BnM. The are cheap (ish) and tuff (very). Used a set of them for years before I switched over to Ozarks.

Oh...And I use an 8, 11, and 14 of of each side when pulling from the back.

Exact same setup I run. Im not sure the 410s will pull a big board.

    Default Bandit crankbaits

I run a 16' a 12' and an 8' straight out the side and another 8' strait out the back when not using planer boards. I use all 6-8' rods on my planers.

Cabelas has a nice inexpensive rod exclusively for trolling. They are called the Whoopin Stick. When you catch them on sale, they're under 25 bux. Being a glass rod, they're easy on the fishes mouth when using braid.
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
