Rod holder layout for trolling cranks??? Help! Lay them off the side or straight behind the boat? I now have a spyderloc 4 rod holder with extra base plate and can mount holders off the side

I have 6 pairs of bases for my HiTek holders. Front ones are for spider rigging or longlining off the side, next ones back are for longlining or pulling cranks, same for the next 2 sets depending on how many folks are in the boat, back 2 pairs are for longlining or cranks(one set right behind the seats if I'm by myself), back set for 2nd person in the boat who sits on back deck. I fish by myself a lot and use the remote on my Terrova so I can move around. My set-up allows me to run as many as 10 rods by myself and stay comfortable. I have hooked as many as 6 keepers at one time on cranks and managed to get all of them in the boat.

Same here, got front set, another set on the side for the whole t-bar set up, them 2 sets of mounts for just the t-bars going back. If fish off the sides when longlining or pulling cranks and leave the back open to work fish in, when the fish hits raise the rod high and bring the fish up and move it across other lines to the middle which is wide open, do the same as mrdux, fish as many as 10 by myself with very little trouble.

Yes or push them with 2-3-or 4oz weights. Let's you turn sharp

Don't think he is going to be pushing any big weights like that with BGJP. Way to light a pole. Might be able to pull with them but they are a pretty light tipped pole. PST would be much better.

Pinnacale from grizzly jig. 4 for 60.00 can get 8,10 and 12. I have 8's and 12's. They are limber but work just fine for pulling.

so I should probably get 2 8's and 2 12's? or should I get 8, 10, 12 and stagger them off the side with my 8 footer being closest to the boat?
