They did not have a meeting in my neck of the woods.

Let me get up to speed right quick...... There was a meeting to discuss changing the regs to 10 inch and 15 fish. I personally had no problem with that. It is really hard to oppose or agree with regulations that were not on the table. Hence everyone being whizzed off that they proposed one thing and did another and neither the 11 inch or 3 pole were things that their data showed needed to happen.

For the 100th time. Changing the pole limit was NOT part of the Notice of Intent. If it had been there would have been a riot at The Enid Fish Hatchery January 31st. We didn't have a problem with the proposed regulations. There is NO need to call and write when things are going your way.
Ahhhh...I stand corrected then.

C'mon folks. We just got outflanked at the meetings by the locals and they were apparently organized, focused and determined with their agenda. We can argue until the cows come home about whether or not we should/could have anticipated this. In any battle, the element of surprise is a valuable item and the locals exploited that advantage in round one. Let's get organized and quit fighting among ourselves. It's human to get into the "ain't it awful" discussion and get distracted. It's unfortunate that we didn't go to the meetings with our agenda like the locals did but that's water under the bridge. The state will bend to the pressure I believe. How about we do the following:
1. Realize that there will be a round 2 and get prepared to go after what we all want.
2. Get organized
3. Be quiet about what we are planning and doing (since we can be assured that the locals at all of the lakes who want to keep us away are watching this board with great interest.)
4. Realize that we can generate a very large number of people who can take a day and show the power of a large group
5. Realize that even if the locals outflank us again, we can show enough force for the state to pay attention and yield somewhat because they don't want to deal with a large group of disgruntled sportsmen.
I think we can still win this or at least preserve our ability to troll on the big 4 if we "play our cards right".
Well said but the only part I don't get is that we were supposed to go to the meeting with our agenda. What was supposed to be our agenda? Unless it was opposing 10 inch or 15 fish I didn't know we had one although its clear we do now
