Thank's Rees.G that's what I'm trying to get at and just went about it the wrong way.I'v been around Grenada lake my whole life and have seen the pressure explode the last 5-10yrs.These lakes got to how they are I belive from yrs of low pressure and fish had time to get big.I afraid that were going to see huge decline in the quialty of the fish because of the pressure mabey not now but in the yrs down the road.I don't want it to get where I'm that old man telling my grand kid's or sitting around the coffe shop saying I remember when you could go catch 2lb crappie at name your lake.

waited long time to chime in, not being a smart as.. or anything, I never did fish Mississippi for the big fish, could care less, hate spider riggin, only did it once in sippi. two pole slow trolling or one pole dipping is my thang, and I like it, Reason I go back to sippi is for the people. same reason I like Arkansas fishing, and Oklahoma fishing, hard to find a mean spirited crappie fisherman, Hope y'all get the rod thing figured out, cause I am comming back soon and I don't want any problems,,,,...Just keepe the boiled snot dots away from me and all is well.

For you guys posting about me and Dad, I'll just have to wait 'til I can talk to him back home, but again, appreciate the remarks. I'm sure lookin' forward to see him catch some nice slabs!

As far as pressure.....well, there's a board on this forum specifically to introduce new people (especially kids) into fishing, as well as the basic entire purpose of this forum is for people all over the country to have a common place to "meet" and talk crappie as well as other subjects.

Fishing, regardless of species is (supposed to be) an enjoyable hobby/sport, and there's a whole lot worse things people (especially kids) can do to occupy their time. The only way to reduce pressure on ANY lake is to dissuade others from fishing, totally 180* from what this site is all about. As long as we're fishing legally, and playing by the rules (like them or not), there shouldn't be any animosity between those of us who pursue crappie regardless if it's single-polling or spider-rigging. Division among the ranks doesn't help the sport, regardless of what it is.

Nothing wrong at all with wanting to catch fish, after all, it is part of the reason we fish, but it shouldn't be the most important factor. I've seen guys have to stay out until the last possible ray of sunlight is disappearing simply because they're a fish or 2 away from the limit. Personally, I don't get it, but it's not my place to. If they can take 15 or 20 fish, they have every right to do just that. It's just not that important to me, I'll settle for a decent (weather) day and good conversation, some goofin'-off/cuttin'-up, maybe some snack goodies to keep the belly quiet, and if the fish bite, great. I've never left the water upset because I didn't catch a fish or limit-out, and hope I never do. If I do, I need to reconsider why I fish.

Fishing ain't a job, it's a hobby. There's no Boss, no quota, and no time clock, and no reason to put-up with anyone you choose not to. Dang, set in the boat and look around yourself, think about those who ain't as fortunate as you to be so close to such waters or the resources to get there, not to mention having a boat and gear just to spend a day on the water. Kinda makes a lot of other stuff seem pretty insignificant.

we are coming to Sardis fishing for the first time to Mississippi and hope to do well. I come to this forum to learn more and we are going to spider rig for the first time ever getting ready to order the equipment monday. You guys are spoiled, in illinois 12 inch crappie is really big for here and we have a 2 pole limit for the most part I think there might be some places that you can fish 3. Going to save me money because of that or I would be getting enough to run 6 rigs for me and my wife. Me coming down there to fish is like you guys coming up here to kill our monster bucks we are spoiled too for deer hunting. Just be happy that you can have a chance to catch 2 lb crappie everytime you go out. I hope to hit it just right and maybe catch a 2 pounder

Exactly. I want to see a six pole limit. That three poles on one side and two on the other just gives my OCD fits.
