You didn't come straight-out and call 'em "yours", but you're sure acting like it. Yep, this State is even money with many others as Speck mentioned (and I've purchased 3 this year), so you're misinformed gravedigger (or just choose to ignore fact). So one out of state boat crowds you, so they're all the same? Never been crowded by a MS boat? You must not fish on busy days on the lake. I've watched outside poles I thought were gonna tangle with those of a boat passing by. Ask feelay, I bet he's NEVER followed by an MS boat

I call BS on another boat trying to push you out of a spot, when and where did this happen? What state was the other boat from? Did you report them? In many States it's against the law to interfere with someone legally hunting/fishing/trapping.

Why is it you feel they even needed to "reduce fishing pressure", what was the problem? If there was one, I sure hadn't seen it. These are nice fish, and not impossible to catch (for the most part, depending on weather, etc. they can be tougher), so I don't see where there was any "problem" that required any attention whatsoever. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I can't help but think having 1 useable ramp on the lake reduces fishing somewhat. If you feel the lake is over-pressured, have YOU considered doing "your part", and just staying home? Maybe you should only fish 1 day a month? I mean if you're not voluntarily reducing the number of fish you take, makes you sort of a hypocrite, don't it?

    Well said pb crappie,

As you know I also spend a lot of time at Sardis (right down the road from your place) although my home is in Memphis. I run into a few people who don't like out-of-staters fishing at Sardis but that is the exception rather than the rule. Some of the nicest people I know live in Mississippi, fish alongside me on their lakes, know I live in Tennessee and treat me like I'm more than welcome on their lakes. The people who live around Sardis had some lean times recently with keepers being hard to find but very few of them blame the "out-of-staters". Most of them blame the internet and I have to agree with them (although most of the guys around Sardis that I know don't post on crappie.com but check it every day and they appreciate us telling them where the fish are biting on their lake...they especially like the pictures we post showing the shoreline behind us). I remember a day last year in early July. I was cleaning a limit of crappie at Pat's Bluff and a guy from Oxford stopped by to talk with me. He saw my Tennessee tags on my truck, I guess. He came over, looked at my fish, and asked that "I not go back to Memphis and bring everyone down there". He said they'd been catching good fish down there since first of June and didn't need the hoards from Memphis converging on Sardis to clean out the lake. I told him that I didn't want that either, we laughed, shook hands and then he told me where he had been catching them and I told him where I had caught them. I have a lot of experiences like that on the Big 4. I wish the people everywhere were as nice and cordial as the people I meet in Mississippi.

I came to fish a bit and move on back in late November. I stayed because of the folks I met and friendships I've made, couldn't give a hoot about the fish compared to that. As long as I'm able to see them whenever they have time to stop by, that's better than any fish I'd hope to catch.

Now, if I could just find a freezer big enough to cram about a dozen of them guys in, it'd make the stay back north (until fall) a whole lot more tolerable.

I was dang good to meet you and fish with you as well and looking forward to your return in the fall, hopefully you will have dad in tow.

As far as inconciderate fisherman, they come from all over. I will help anyone and treat them with respect as long as they do the same, a rooster tail from the Merc or a flare gun will keep most respectful.

I don't take up much room in a cooler but can't say I'd want to stay io north that long. A week at a time is more than enough "

Beg to differ with you about MS having the lowest license fees around. Mississippi has the highest fees among: MS, AL, TN, KY, AR. MO is a few dollars higher on hunting but are lower for fishing. Those figures are posted else where in this thread.

Everyone is trying to put the blame on everything but the real reason for the problem............The problem is....These four lakes in Mississippi are the best crappie lakes in the world and everybody wants to fish them. I think we would all agree on that. That being said......a limit on number of poles has nothing to do with this one way or the other and it is sure not going to help anything. We need to all let our voices be heard about this in the right places.
