For you guys posting about me and Dad, I'll just have to wait 'til I can talk to him back home, but again, appreciate the remarks. I'm sure lookin' forward to see him catch some nice slabs!

As far as pressure.....well, there's a board on this forum specifically to introduce new people (especially kids) into fishing, as well as the basic entire purpose of this forum is for people all over the country to have a common place to "meet" and talk crappie as well as other subjects.

Fishing, regardless of species is (supposed to be) an enjoyable hobby/sport, and there's a whole lot worse things people (especially kids) can do to occupy their time. The only way to reduce pressure on ANY lake is to dissuade others from fishing, totally 180* from what this site is all about. As long as we're fishing legally, and playing by the rules (like them or not), there shouldn't be any animosity between those of us who pursue crappie regardless if it's single-polling or spider-rigging. Division among the ranks doesn't help the sport, regardless of what it is.

Nothing wrong at all with wanting to catch fish, after all, it is part of the reason we fish, but it shouldn't be the most important factor. I've seen guys have to stay out until the last possible ray of sunlight is disappearing simply because they're a fish or 2 away from the limit. Personally, I don't get it, but it's not my place to. If they can take 15 or 20 fish, they have every right to do just that. It's just not that important to me, I'll settle for a decent (weather) day and good conversation, some goofin'-off/cuttin'-up, maybe some snack goodies to keep the belly quiet, and if the fish bite, great. I've never left the water upset because I didn't catch a fish or limit-out, and hope I never do. If I do, I need to reconsider why I fish.

Fishing ain't a job, it's a hobby. There's no Boss, no quota, and no time clock, and no reason to put-up with anyone you choose not to. Dang, set in the boat and look around yourself, think about those who ain't as fortunate as you to be so close to such waters or the resources to get there, not to mention having a boat and gear just to spend a day on the water. Kinda makes a lot of other stuff seem pretty insignificant.
