This is the type of thing that happened at Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) in Arkansas for duck hunting during the course of several years. My list is not all-inclusive and only serves as an example of how things progressed.

1. Went from lead to steel shot.
2. All day hunting was reduced to half-day to end at 1200 noon and out of the woods no later than 1300. Exception made for last week of last season of the year.
3. No guided hunts are allowed due to "pressure" from non-residents.
4. Decoys could not be left out overnight
5. No clearing of undergrowth in hunting holes before season
6. Draw hunts on some WMAs--not even if you are first one there, you aren't guaranteed a spot to hunt.
7. Duck blinds were forbidden to hunt out of in 2 areas that I know of personally. They are supposed to be disposed of and removed or AGFC will burn it down for you.
8. Shell limit including 25 shells and shot size on central AR WMAs.

You see where I am going with this. AGFC had public meetings but not sure they heard the crowd against all of the restrictions. I am not sure if there was unbiased scientific data to substantiate the rule changes or not. I can tell you that I no longer hunt the public ground in Arkansas that I did for 30 years because of all the changes made due to "pressure" and other buzz words.

I see this as a start to further regulation changes akin to the Duck Hunting rule changes in Arkansas. There are many great folks from all over the area but some groups have more "political" clout and money than the one's who are most negatively affected by the perceived arbitrary changes.

I am a supporter for the cause to keep the pole limit the same. Make your VOICE heard and stand up for your rights as taxpayers, sportsmen/women and CRAPPIE enthusiasts.

Just my thoughts on the matter...............................
