Default Update on my hook problem

They have the back deck off and gas tank and batteries out. They are fixing the hook but there is a bigger problem, I had to mount jack plate low on boat to get motor low enough to ride. Well there is no reinforcement in transom that low so they are taking the transom and reinforcing with 1/4 plate. Should have it back next week, this is supposed to be under warranty, I told him why I had to mount the jack plate so low was the hook problem, but they are trying to twist it around like its my fault. They knew about this from the get go and were the ones who told me to try a jack plate. Well nothing I tried fixed the hook problem so I have made my mind up they wont get a dime for the hook repairs. Am I wrong to think like this?

I agree with you torch. They seem to be a pretty stand up company so hopefully they will do the right thing.

Yeah I have sold 50 to 100 boats for them so I hope it will be ok. I did not talk to the owner yesterday just the guy working on my boat.

Monticello has several excellent builders in that one town. I'm betting when you talk to the old man he will handle it no questions asked. Let us know how it ends up

For that size boat it should have had enough support built in from jump street to handle a jack plate and that motor no matter how high or low you mounted it. Never heard of such a thing. Good luck and totally agree they shouldn't get a dime. Especially since it was like that from day one.
