Take the cowling off and the line that goes to the peehole, try flushing it out first. I've had mine get clogged up with some grass out in the middle of lake Washington and just had to take the line off and flush it out. Ran fine after that. Then again, it you haven't changed out the impeller yet and it's a 07-08, it's time anyhow

I can't imagine that a reputable shop couldn't ever fix your problems like you stated. How do they stay in business if they're incompetent? ;-)

How did you conclude he has not properly serviced the engine?

You are probably right about them finding other issues that I can not see but they would fix them and then tell me after it was too late. I learned after a few times and would tell them up front not to replace anything without calling me first. Then it seemed like there was some sort of friction there and the service I got was not good. A boat repair would keep me off the water for a week because it seemed like my boat got put in the back of the line. Thanks for all the replys. I got a impellor part this morning and its going to be fixed today.

If a week on a repair is the back of the line...I need the number of that shop! A week is not a long time for a boat shop especially spring/summer. Month waits are not uncommon for a lot of shops.
