    Default Ten Tom (Aliceville Lake)

Hello guys! Never posted on the Mississippi board but my partner and I were kind of curious if the Tee Tom is any good early February? We fished the CM classic and had a good time, just looking for a weekend trip to get away from the cold Southern Il weather.

We got some guys in here that fish the Teen-Tom, but most of them fish further down than Aliceville. Maybe the will chime in in awhile.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Ranger the Tenn Tomm can be very productive in Feb. but ya gotta figure em out. If the river is stable you can catch em in the main channel and old runs anywhere from 10 to 20 ft deep. If the river is high and fast with alot of current you may have to go back in old slews and lakes to get away from muddy water. We been doin pretty good the last month or so but I was over there this weekend and river was on the war path. It should be settled down again by this weekend tho. Just ge careful if you get out of main channel and dont know whrere ya are because you can tear a boat up quick over there.

GDG is right on the money and he will not tell you wrong. He and i fish the river regularly and the winter is our favorite time to do so, but with the high water it is experiencing now i would also suggest a different place. Like he said Ross Barnett should be getting some very hot action, that is where we plan to go this weekend. Pickwick Lake might be another choice for you, i do not know how the high water has affected it but i am sure someone up that way might chime in and help out.

Thanks for the info!!! Wish I were in Flordia fishing the Harris Chain but the wife feels I need to be at work!!! I really enjoy fishing the Tee tom as it fishies alot like the ohio river in southern illinois. Right now just looking to get away from the cold!! If I can ever be of assistance or share info on an IL location give me a shout. I will check back closer to the weekend of Feb 9th on the river conditions down that way. thanks again
