They sho are better than store bought.

We have 49 chickens.....2 Red Star roosters, 3 Red Star hens, 4 silver Wyandote hens, 8 Rhode Island Red hens, 1 white hen, 13 Golden Laced Seabright bantams, 18 black white bantams (don't know what breed they are) and 3 ducks, 5 Nigerian Dwarf goats (2 of which we milk twice a day), 1 hog (which will become ham, pork chops and such in about 2 weeks) and a horse.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: (KJV)

I keep several of the golden comets,Great layers and very people friendly,After you eat fresh eggs you won't go back to those yucky storebought eggs that have been stocked for three months before being sold .And my wife uses only fresh eggs for baking, sure makes a difference

I just think about the fruits of our labor, from the chickens (eggs) and the delicious goat milk and we make goat cheese too...Mmm. Then when that hog gets turned into ham, bacon, chops, etc...MMmmmm

I'm in quite the jam over these chickens. We got 16 hatchlings back in October and my kids have raised them and of coarse named them. Turns out we have 7 roosters that need to go bye bye but the kids won't have it. I hoping that when they start crowing at 4:30 in the morning and waking them up they will have a change of heart. We'll see!!

Ask Scott how he got rid of the roosters. Maybe you can do it one at a time.

I thought I would have a hard time getting rid of our 4 roosters. Once they started jumping on the hens and pulling a few feathers out of their backs, Pam was so mad at them for being "mean" that she was ready to ring their necks.
