Sorry I didn't recognize you, Carl. I sure would've stopped to say howdy if I'd seen you. What kind of boat you got in addition to your butla boat?

$4.00 for 20 lbs. of ice doesn't sound bad to me. If you're at Sardis and need ice where else will you go? The ice machine at Batesville will give you 20 lbs. bulk or a 16 lb. bag for $2.00. But how much are you going to save driving to it and back? Buy a freezer and make block ice. Buy an ice maker and store the ice in the freezer too. If I'm going to need ice in the 16 lb. bag. I'll load a cooler in the truck and when I get close to one of the machines, I'll buy 2 bags. Like I said earlier, I use a lot of frozen water bottles for cooling drinks and minners on a trip.
I use to trade at Hearns, but the last few times I was there, they had bullhead minners. Are they still open? I guess I'll live with the higher prices where I have to. And be grateful that I can save at other places.

for me its all about the mom and pop bait shops we need to support these places the wal marts and the corporate stores have shut most our local bait shops down they just cant make it in this economy and compete dont know about you but i would much rather go into a thankful and respectful bait shop even if i got to pay a little more

Bill and Beth Wyatt are great people. If you have a problem, I would hope you would take it up with them. I am quite sure they would address and fix the issue. Ive been getting minnows there for years, and with the exception of the time they had the store leased to other people, I have always been treated great. I went last week, bought five dozen minnows, fished all day, gave half of them to Tom Tom and Don, on the lake, and still had minnows left. I bet i had 150 plus minnows!!!! Besides, havent you read the sign??? Their minnow are guaranteed to catch fish ...or die trying!!!!

Not knocking the Dam Store but the price does sound high to me, pay 1.35 a dozen for Med minner day in and day out. Maybe who they get theirs from is too high I dont know but 10 dozen for 13.50 or 10 dozen for 20.00 is a lot of difference. I buy minners in Grenada and store em at the house and it helps. As far as count, like Feelay says 4 dozen is 48 everyday of the week, dont have a prob with a close count but price does make a difference. One thing I have noticed in the bait shop business is their suppliers hold em over a barrel, if they dont buy their stuff from the supplier then they kinda get black balled and may not can get bait if they run out. This causes a higher cost on things in there because of the middle man and to me also makes it harder on the bait shop owners to keep it going.

Just got back from Sardis and other than not being able to fill the boat due to them not having non ethanol, they run a tight ship. I didn't find the prices outrageous. Minnow count was fine and they stayed alive for us in our bucket at camp which was aereated for two days with just a few dead. They get my vote anyway.

Well itslike this these guys that have boats with more electronics than nasa on their boats, high dollar rods and holders, the best poles lures jigs, spend a small fortune on gas to go fishing, then cry over the cost of the most important item in their boat(minners) need to fall back and regroup.
