Keep a look at craigslist. I see pontoons just the toons for sale all the time a set of 20 footers would be great to build a platform on.

We used to have place on a private lake and we built a floating pier.Used 55 gal plastic barrels forgot how many it took but built a frame put the barrels in and stapped em in and put the deck on.My place was on a hill and had a lot of pines, when we got ready to launch we raked up a bunch of pine needles spread em out and started pushing, was like launching a ship, after we got it in the water we pulled it to the spot we wanted and drove a couple of galvanized pipes and anchored it down the built the walkway.Think i had about $500 in it. Sold the place about 13 years ago and it was still there.

TOO MANY IDIOTS TO FEW BULLETS
Good some good ideas...We thought about the old toons. That may be what we do and then just make a walkway. Too dang hot now...think that will be a fall project!!

Hey Spiderwoman, You may want to put a post on the Arkansas Board about your pier. Not sure how far you live from Memphis, But Horseshoe Lake Is less than a hour from Memphis. That lake is covered with piers/docks and it seems i always see one underconstruction. I personally don't know anyone, but someone is that area might know someone in your area or help you with materials. Hope this helps.......Shoot BRM lives out that way, he might chime in![]()
I saw some foam blocks on craigslist.org the other day. North MS. can't remember if in general, material or sporting goods. I'll look and see if it's still there.
Yep, still there.
