Just had belts back then... Hurt my back real good...
And those harnesses are deadly... They say in 5mins you can die... They act like a turnicate... All the blood goes to your legs and can't come back out... No blood to the brain..

Msha is mine safety. This includes gravel pits and underground work. OSHA is anything else. MSHA is normally tougher than OSHA, but neither is leavin the location without some type of fine or violation.

As far as the regs go, they are out there to try and protect employees. They are only a minimum standard and they should always be followed. If I inspect a job site and fall protection is on an as needed basis as you see fit, then you'll never get insurance with our company. The lack of the use of fall protection on residential or commercial or industrial jobs will get ya rated Poor by me every time. I can look over some paperwork violations, but not fall protection.

GDG, I hope you had the Keyes in your pocket. Would've hate to have seen you jerked over the barn.

No shortcuts when it comes to safety....
In 28 years I've only been hurt twice. Once my fault and the one I mentioned above...

If you fall aint no difference between 35ft and 180, still make the same splat when ya hit.
