I fish by myself the majority of the time, and I have some small diameter short ropes, maybe 3' long I keep handy, and tie the boat off using the forward and rear cleats on the side I ease up to or launch on. My boat does not have too many scratches/dings, but they are starting to accumulate. I don't worry too much about it since its an 04 model tracker. Wife use to go with me alot when it was new, and she is able to load the boat w/o issue. Now, I just tie it and hope I don't get another scratch, but oh well if I do.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I don"t understand why the Corps doesn't put boat docks at the ramps. I understand that they are flood control lakes and the water level fluctuates greatly. The Corps lakes in Missouri are flood control lakes also and fluctuate just as much. The difference is, the Corps puts boat docks at all of their ramps here. The bigger ramps have 2 docks. The docks have wheels on the rear and are cabled on the front. They are raised and lowered with a tractor or even a pickup truck. It makes it so easy to launch and load by your self. Just back off the trailer and motor over to the dock and tie off. Go park the truck and go fishing. When you are finished, Just tie up to the dock, back the truck down the ramp and hop back in the boat. No pulling up on thee ramp or bank. No beating up the boat.

At the ramp I use most often at Sardis they would have to move that dock 3,000' to 4,000' horizontally, but only 20' laterally. I would love it if they could make it work though.
Up there in the middle of that rip rap is where I launch in the summer.

Why can't you use your fancy smancy I pilot to spot lock the boat jus out of harms way? I ain't got one and really don't want one, but this looks like it would come in handy in times like these. When ya get back, jus back to boat up to the ramp with the remote and climb in. Won't this werk?
