No problem maachuuu, that's what I do. I'm just gonna need to see your green card, I'll need your house, truck and boat for collateral and as soon as we get the lab results back on the blood sample we can start the application and decide how much of a down payment we'll need.

Congrats man! You will really like it. First off.. print out the manual online.. All that comes with the 898 is a CD with the manual loaded on it for you to print. When mounting the transducer get your boat level front to back and side to side. The front to back part is easy but I used a floor jack to adjust side to side. That way you can be sure your transducer is level before you start drilling holes. You will also need to get a 3 amp inline fuse to put on the positive wire. I got mine from radio shack but they have them at other boat places.. I think I saw them at academy too. Get some marine grade silicone from a boat shop, bass pro (maybe), and academy (maybe)... That stuff was pretty hard to find but I got some from c&s marine..... Lets see.. what else.... i got a fish tape from lowes that helped me run my wires and uses masonry string to pull them through. Maybe that is a start...

As hard as it may be, dont, for any reason, listen to PP (dd) when installin the ducer. If'n by some chance you do decide to listen to him, please take my advise and stand on your head when you install it his way. Trust me, you'll be way better off. :p

On a lesser serious note, trust me the above statement is much more serious, get you one of them ducer mounting plates so you can adjust without the extra 5 or 3 extra set of holes in yo transom.

did you mount on the left or right side of the transom (as you are sitting in the boat) ? I have my current transducer on the left side and I have read where this was to be located on the right side

    thanks
