When mounting the transducer get your boat level front to back and side to side. The front to back part is easy but I used a floor jack to adjust side to side. That way you can be sure your transducer is level before you start drilling holes. You will also need to get a 3 amp inline fuse to put on the positive wire. I got mine from radio shack but they have them at other boat places.. I think I saw them at academy too. Get some marine grade silicone from a boat shop, bass pro (maybe), and academy (maybe)... That stuff was pretty hard to find but I got some from c&s marine..... Lets see.. what else.... i got a fish tape from lowes that helped me run my wires and uses masonry string to pull them through. Maybe that is a start...

did you mount on the left or right side of the transom (as you are sitting in the boat) ? I have my current transducer on the left side and I have read where this was to be located on the right side

thanks
