    Default Transducer

I would recommend you get one of these transducer mounting plates. It will allow you to move the transducer around without putting holes in the boat. The SI transducers are a little sensitive to water turbulence often seen in aluminum boats and being able to move the transducer a little will help avoid it.
    Just my 2 cents.

Mount SternMate™ directly over the holes in your transom.

JB Weld works good to plug holes in aluminum.

Closed end Pop rivets are water tight, just kind of hard to find. I used them to plug the holes in my transom, haven't had any problems yet.
