Brad I lost most of my high freq hearing in the service working on jet engines. I got hearing aids from the VA a year and a half ago. I only wear mine half the time. i certainly take them out when working with things that make loud noise because i dont want to lose any of the hearing I have left. Lawnmower, skill saw, grinder, etc. I got the behind the ear type... I also have a wireless remote that I can make adjustments with. That was what the audiologist recommended. I like them they are a great help. Have your ears cleaned and wax removal before hearing test....if not they will set your hearing aids wrong. Then regular cleaning when needed. Anyway...good luck to ya and if you have any questions just PM me.
