Excellent! I like the HAs the VA gave me, but like you if I had to pay $7500, I don't think they are worth that much. I am getting used to them slowly, as at first they bothered my inner ears. I think if I wore them more often I would get used to them sooner. I usually remember them when I am getting out of the truck at a place where they would help, like at a restaurant or church.

I keep mine in a dryer unit by my bed. I put them in soon as I get up every morning, and I mean soon as my feet hit the floor. If my car rides real quiet, I know I forgot them. LOL

    Now that's funny.

I don't wear mine everywhere, only when I -HAVE- to hear something. I should wear them more often, maybe I would get used to them.

Like Clint I wear mine when I'm at church or with my grandchildren etc. but not every waking hour. My HA tech tells me that sporadic use will cause my hearing to deteriorate more quickly but in 6 years there has been no change. I am of the opinion that she wants me to use em all the time so that they will wear out more quickly and then she can sell me another ridiculously overpriced pair. Two years ago, while living in the Philippines mine needed a repair so while there I priced the same pair new. My 5000.00 HA cost 1450.00 there. Same Siemans- same model etc. Kind of an obscene profit margin seems to me.

How would you know if it was a knock off or not?

I suppose that's always a possibility but the business was a certified Siemans dealer and the parts I needed to repair mine (purchased in the US) were taken from the identical HA for sale there in Cebu, Philippines. When the repair guy there said they lacked the parts to repair mine I asked if they would be willing to scavenge them from a new one and amazingly he said yes! Charged me the pesos equivalent of 65.00. A month ago I needed a repair here and paid the minimum charge, 375.00. Filipinos are a very obliging people and in my 18 month experiences there- exceptionally fair and honest among the business community.
