That is defiantly the run around. I got mine thru the va and I only served 7 years and 1 combat tour in lovely south Vietnam. Have you signed up for va health care. I am at 80 percent disability and get a nice check each month. Sign up for health care and you do not have to use it. When you get your hearing test make sure you tell them you have ringing in your ears. That is the magic word.

My dad gets his from the va and he's not retired military. Something sure doesn't sound right about that.

You don't have to be retired from the military to get VA health care.

I printed out forms off the internet....filled them out....got dd214 attached and going to a different office in the morning.

"G", Whomever told you that you could not get in the system is WRONG!!! You're on the right path with your DD214. They CANNOT refuse you service!

You might be entitled to disability compensation if you furnish some proof that you worked on jet engines that resulted in your hearing loss.

Yep...I can prove that....I can also prove two tours boots on the ground in nam.
