Well I finally work through all the open jars of jelly. Since Linda and I are both diabetic we don't eat much. We had blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, apple, satsuma, mayhaw and maybe more. All of it from great friends. We finally got to your grapefruit jelly and and it was good. It had a little bit of that grapefruit bitterness to it but not enough to make it distasteful. It was a nice switch from all the sweet ones.

Thanks Gene. I thought it a nice switch as well, that's why I thought I'd give it a shot. Haven't heard of anyone doing that. The rinds have been fermenting for three months now, don't you know the cellos will have a nice bite. Will probably bottle them up this weekend.

The end of red light cameras?

A Louisiana congressman is confident voters will reject the continued use of fine-issuing traffic cameras operating at traffic light intersections across Louisiana this Fall. Apparently such cameras automatically resisters speeds above the speed limit or vehicles running red lights. Such Bill is 257. There has been a huge debate over this of years. For reasons I don't understand.

Yours truly never exceeds the speed limit, nor attempts to zoom across an intersection. I'm fine with what we have currently. Don't understand the rational with those folks that say it's unfair. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just sayin.....

You will if you contest it......personally, I believe the technology we have today is very good.....

A human is not always there to see what happened.....and if he was, he can not see and make a better call than the camera....

Our drivers here are terrible about running yellow lights. Instead of slowing down they floorboard it and fly through the intersection. Some do it from half a block away. It is actually illegal to enter the intersection on a yellow light in SC. You have to be already in the intersection to proceed if the light turns yellow.
I'd welcome the cameras if it made folks more cautious.

Thought I would share what we've been working on the last 4 weekends. We put an outside door on the side of the addition because my Mom is supposed to move in with us "sometime". We were going to add another bed and bath there. She's not in a big hurry and the insurance company was not happy because there are no steps there so we decided to build a little deck. That turned into needing landscaping and I'm not keen on pulling it out now so we'll have to come up with something else for Mom when she decides to come here. LOL Here's a couple before and after pics.

Had my little breakfast on the deck. I titled this pic "Tea and Biscuits on the Veranda Dahlin' "

Randy started painting the front porch yesterday and got the primer done. No dogs were painted for the photo, it was dry We didn't think he would jump up that high so we didn't close that end off.

The smoked ham will be delicious here shortly, of course topped with raisin sauce. Ann made me some deviled eggs which she hasn't done for many years. Finish that up with some fresh Louisiana strawberries and whipped cream. I do believe I'll put the hurt on the deviled eggs and enjoy the strawberries. The ham will be fine tomorrow.
