Once again, something took my Koi out of their little pond I have for them. This small pond is just for them, except for some shiners I had left over in there. I believe it's one of those huge owls we have out here. I start them when they're 1" long. The owls apparently wait until they're 12" long for a snack. I caught one once when I came home and saw a Koi flopping around the yard. Son in law said I should put some sort of net over it. Don't want to do that because I like the water reeds, etc. I started in there. Oh well, nature running it's course.

The shiners appear to be okay for those that are concerned.

Well we were able to get cabin #12 for the 24th, 25th and 26th. Not one of the upgraded ones, but it will work for us. See you'all
    at Toledo Bend then.

What I like about this time of year during the heavy fog we have been having in the mornings is hearing the ducks and geese honking right above the tree tops. Following the Vermilion River they are. Very loud at times, can't see them. Honking away. On clear mornings, I've heard them, then look up - high in the sky in formation. To me, a simple pleasure in life.

Brought one of our orchids from inside to get a drink in a small fountain we have. That was a couple of weeks ago, I forgot it was there. Passed by it yesterday, and it's getting after it:

Pretty as can be. I guess I need to haul it in to join it's buddies. Sure likes it there for sure.
