21° this morning with the wind blowing 17 mph out of the north, wind chill at 11°. That wind will cut you like a knife for sure. Had to bust the ice on the goat's water trough with a hammer being 1/4"+ thick. And, their trough is in their barn.

The 12th day of Christmas was Thursday, so Mardi Gras season begins. The grocery is gearing up big time with the king cakes:

The dihedral gull wing on this aircraft is excellent. Hats off to the Vought engineers.

Very good fellas on designing the Corsair. I hope someone sees this - excellent engineering. I really appreciate it once putting it together. Huge fun while being stuck inside. Meanwhile, enjoy this as well:

The Corsair is coming togather nicely --- It made me dig out the set of Plans for the PBY-2 I had bought a while back. it was to be all Balsa and Ply with 80 inch wingspan, and not from a kit and the Hobby store closed in West Monroe. When going over the Plans the controls were for Rudder,, Elevator,, and Throttle. Looking at the wings there were no Ailerons. as Large as this Bird was it needed Flaps too ==== I folded the plans to pull them out from time to time.

Very cool Larry. 80 inch wingspan is huge. This F4U-4 is only 38 inch wing span. A PBY-2 is an excellent aircraft as well. Interesting no ailerons, nor flaps. But I'm sure it could be modified somehow. I'm finding this huge fun while not doing heavy construction on the addition, out buildings, etc. I've got to fool around with something.

We'll be having brisket this evening prepared from last weekend in the bitter cold. For dessert, a biscuit with some grapefruit jelly we made. Works just fine for us, the grapefruit jelly is serious fellas. Will be reading a book with Ann and Ernie in the bed this evening (Abby has her bed next to our bed on the floor - she likes that) afterwords. Don't give a hoot about what Obama has to say in his farewell speech on the network antenna television. Not doing it, no way, no how.

I had some brisket that I had cooked for Christmas last night too! And will be having it again today for lunch! I didn't give a hoot about what Obama had to say either!
