Check out the thread that Slab posted on the Main Crappie Fishing Forum about the upcoming Crappie University put on by Bobby Garland. The only site hosting it in Louisiana is Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City.
Tried posting a link, but it didn't work.

Thanks Larry, I think I have seen those. They are probably more light brown in color. I have only picked mushrooms to eat once. They were like the normal ones you buy. Although a little more pungent. Could be because we picked them in a sheep pasture in Scotland. In an omelet in minutes.

Only ones I've picked and eaten are the Chanterelles. I spent 6 weeks in Oregon in our RV fishing for Salmon with my friend who lives there. We went into the national forrest mountains there and gathered quite a lot of them. We lightly sauteed them with onions foe a wonderful treat.
Also froze several bags vacuum sealed for later.Living in an RV, a vacumm sealer is your best friend. RV fridges are small.

when looking through all the poisonous I was surprised at how many toxic mushrooms are in reach. the tiny purple ,gray, Orange and browns, but the numbers of white ones surprised me.... there were warnings to not touch some of them because the Toxins could enter through the skin --- they did not need to be injested - Just be safe
I pick oyster mushrooms in the winter. I have been waiting for the cold wet weather to start foraging for them.
