Hit 100 yesterday and today, not a good time to lose AC.
Why now, been working fine since we built in 2007???
could be a quick fix.....check your overflow pan in the attic....it has a float switch which will shut everything down.....outside unit and the blower in the attic....the way to tell if that is it is to try to run anything.....if nothing runs, most likely that is the problem.....you will have to blow out the P trap which is preventing the pan from draining....good time to replace air filters also.....I put the date on mine so I know how old they are....

I would not let them put the exchanger in the attic, don't trust the pan/tube/switch. My exchanger is under the house in crawl space. The unit is a heat pump, but it is split. The one in my previous house was one unit that sat outside. Think I like that better than the split unit.
I have a service contract with a local company here, they service it twice a year, they just could not get anyone out here in the dark to try to work on it. Hopefully they can get out early tomorrow and get it going.

Thanks Randy. We were planning to go north not south to escape the heat. Hopefully they can get it going in the morning. Maybe we need to plan a trip south to fish some of the Crappie rich waters y'all have down there.

I agree Ray, both of my units are package units - not split. Have a great vacation.

I have my ole pit all but choked off and the coolest I can get it is 250 I guess some of that is the sun beating down on the rusty metal. Hope its not too hot for the few eggs i decided to try to smoke. Time will tell.
