I fished with PG24 today--so needless to say there was an empty cooler brought on board with us. Donald told me that his freezer was empty, and he felt naked without fish to eat. As soon as I heard that, I wanted to make sure I didn't have to hear him ever say that again--and thankfully his cooler left over 30 lbs heavier. Minnows seemed to have an edge today, but the jigs were still very effective. We took about 2hrs to try other spots, including a couple sets of the new condos, but nothing. Same location and techniques as yesterday (64 north), but easier to hold the boat! What a beautiful, calm, productive day. It's always fun to fish with PG24. Again, I hope the pattern holds for my parent's visit.
Last year's report (2008 11/10) same as previous report

Dad and I went out with low expectations in the high water. But the day ended up pretty good. We caught several 12-13" fish. The fishing was never too fast. The key was to keep moving around and chase the schools of fish around. The best bite was about 21' down in 27'. I would say minnows caught just over half of the keepers, but the jigs took the 13.25"er. For us the best action was <1mile north of 64. One of our two best spots was in the little cove NE of 64 where the no boats buoys end. There were a couple guys who had caught a few along the same string of bouys but south, closer to the bridge. It was nice to fish with my Dad. My Mom is going to cram into the boat tomorrow. Two's company, three a family.
A black head/gold sparkle mid/chart tail was the only color that seemed to draw much interest from the fish today.
And for Chief: Yes, the Fireline seemed to catch as many fish as the mono....this time anyway.
