    Default Deer hunters ?

Any of you guys deer hunters ? I know it's hot out , but the archery season is a couple months away and I have been practicing a few times a week . I bought a PSE Axe 6 and have been dialing it in . I need to get my trail cams out this week . Looking forward to the upcoming season . Id like to hunt some new ground this year . I have been exploring other options besides what I leased last year .

come fall time, I am a regular tree hugger. I have 40 acres down in washington county that my family does our rifle hunting on, and for archery season I just hunt public conservation areas. some of our public land is top notch as far as I am concerned. one day 2 years ago I was in my climber stand in a remote part of reform CA, and I saw 6 bucks and 5 does in the same evening. now I know that aint as good as what you see on TV, but I usually hunt the hardwoods of the ozarks and some years I dont see that many deer all season long. but that doesnt matter to me, it just makes those does and small bucks that much more special to me. come on sept 15!

I'm going to try a few CA's around here . Most are too small to get way from the crowds though . I scouted some of the public land around Smithville Lake , but that gets pressured . I have about 80 acres I lease , but it is surrounded by houses and it's hard to control trespassers . I really haven't found any good private land since I moved here a few years ago from Tn. Im used to hunting larger wooded tracts , much like the ozarks .

Every spring I wake up and the first thing I think about is crappie fishing. But here lately my first thoughts have switched to bow hunting, I think it was brought on by the arrival of the Cabelas archery catalog. My father in law has hunting privileges on some premium ground in Henry County. In between trips down there I hunted some public ground pretty hard up here in Smithville the last few years. One spot that I found last year seemed to hold several mature bucks and I never saw another hunter there all year. If you put a few beers in me and really lay down the sweet talk I may be willing to share this location as long as you agree that if you tell anybody about its where abouts you will gladly give me your new Axe 6

I hunt around Truman. There is no shortage of good stops especially before firearms season.
