I always chuckle a bit when I see people say that. I'm not a LoZ local by any means, but a quick Google search about LOZ lake levels for the past 10 years shows it hit 654 in March 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Seven out of ten years is an awful high percentage for so many people swearing they ain't seen it this low since some random year.

If you don't believe me, you can verify it yourself at http://server.odd.net/waterlevel/index.php. With everybody having cabin fever from such a cold, miserable winter I guess it just gives us something to talk about though.

Current is 651.81 feet. Not sure how accurate your information is. Mine is straight from the corps of engineers.

I'm afraid to look at our dock. Last time it got this low it bent some structure steel on ramp down to the dock. It took two 12 hour days to repair it all.
If it's at 651.81 it's lower then normal.

From the looks of things temps are on the rise this week so the water should warm enough to bring em up a bit higher. My buddy is an avid duck hunter and has a jet boat; never seems to have a problem getting his boat in the water.

Ameren's website has the level at 653.9 It sucks too, most boat ramps are out of the water right now. They will start bringing it back up right about the time the crappie are making beds.

It's been my experience if the boat ramp is out of the water the truck isn't in the lake far enough!
