Hey all. My name is Ryan but just about everyone I know calls me Tater. I've been visiting c.c for a good while now and thought it be time for me to join in on the fun. I'm from Pontotoc. Born and raised in Pontotoc county all my life. I believe I seen another member on here that is from Pontotoc also. But anyways, I hope to get to know many of you on here, even though I feel as if I know some of you already from just reading all the different post's and threads.
Welcome Tater. Come on down to Crappie Camp at Grenada in a few weeks and meet a bunch of us. Its a great time
Thanks for the invite Speck. May just have to come check it out and meet a few of ya.
We will have a big cookout. Everyone is welcome. Its a good time and a good chance to meet a bunch of great folks. Hope to see ya there
Sounds fun.
Hey, guys. First day on Enid today which ranks among the top 3 of my favorite haunts, and a haunt it was. So my Dad and I arrive early with my friend hauling his boat behind us. Within 15 minutes it was clear that he wasn't putting in and after loading and parking the truck I find Dad is in need of a tow from the middle of Wallace Creek. Hmmm. Well behold, Ron gets some maintenance service in Batesville and we get some batteries n stuff from Walmart, we're back on the water by 10:30! I can't say anything about the catch, but it fells dam good to be back out there. I drive a 98' BassTracker ProTeam 175 with torn decal on port side. Bet I've seen several of you over the many years. I know about flinging poo!, had to winch outa the Gram Lake Road under Sardis many times while pullin the 12'er back in the 60/70's. We always made it one way or another. I grew 8 miles from Sardis and primarily bass fished into the 80's before I acquired the addiction to crappie fishing. Humbabe! Slabs! Ummm! I have lived in Desoto County for 10 years now. Good to meet you guys... CYA out there, Rebel711 Doh At least I didn't drop a boat on the ramp!
Oh, sometimes happy hour beer screws up my riting... Send me a reply if you got any good news on Sardis or Enid today.
Hey Speck:
What is this "Crappie Camp" you are talking about? Could you give us more details?
Guess I should post here too. I'm originally from N'awlins, so I'll still refer to these swimmers as sac-au-lait from time to time. Been in the Memphis area since '03. Jimfish is my father-in-law ;) , so I've seen "da table" get more than it's fair share of use over the past 8 years. Those 2 little rascals that you see Mr Jim bragging about are my two boys, seems they're off to a good start and they have a great teacher. Unfortunately, I, too, am one of those working stiffs who isnt able to get out as much as I would like to...only another 21 yrs or so before I get to retire and go fishing on a full time basis. Glad to be here!
Welcome aboard Towferd, don't wait till you retire to fish, by then you'll be too old and broke down to enjoy it. Besides them kids will be gone and won't have much time for ya. Just sayin
I will personally vouch for this one.Stand up guy and a great son in law. Dont need to mention the 2 boys they have gotten a lot of coverage the last few yrs.Welcome aboard.
Welcome to the board Towferd. Glad to have ya. You have the best fishing mentor around in Mr. Jim. Jump in anytime.
Well Iffn Jim ain;t cut you yet and your married to his daughter, you must be a good guy. LOL Welcome aboard. Oh and I'm the only person on here that never lies. Just rememberdar LOL
Welcome.....wade on in anytime!
Welcome Towferd. You'll need some thick skin to hang with this bunch. LOL Anyone accepted by Mr. Jim is accepted by me. Those two boys of yours are great and have a great teacher.
Scott
Welcome aboard.. Accept no info not approved by your father-in-law, he fishes Arkabutla.. That in itself will make you a good fisherman!! BTW great looking kids..glad they enjoy fishing
Well i live in south rankin county . I like fishing the rees . I have had a wondeerful year . I have only been fishing for crappie hard for just over a year . My live well will only hold about 60 fish at a time . In april i fish the rocks off the damn to get out of that south wind a little . Like to have gotten blown away by a tornado up there one day in april . Caught a lot of good fish . Like most on the rees the wind has been a killer on the lake . I tried up the river . Not had much luck . I enjoy reading your comments on the forums . I have learned if the wind will lay a little fish can be caught . When you are fighting the wind and your trolling motor is come out of the water , it gets more like work than like fun .
Howdy all, well im not a master crappie slayer, but i sure do love to catch them and mmmmm eat them. I dont have a home lake to fish i live about 25 mies north of memphis, in order for me to go fishin i have to get up real early and hit the road i have been to grenada, enid and sardis all great and wonderful lakes. i mostly fished tunica cuttoff with my father(he lived at nelwin fish camp) before he passed away in 2005. he lived there for about 5 years on plum road. anyway last september was the first time i fished since he passed away, so im getting to wonder out and catch those big slabs havent caught any yet but i will ,i guess i sort of like wannabe cant catch no fish LOL, just kiddin wannabe so thats my story and im stickin to it thanks for havin on here

Hey gang...
welcome!
Hi, Crappie101 here, I am here because I have a serious love for crappie fishing...at just over 50, I feel that I am still learning so that is why I chose Crappie101 as my user name....Grew up in Sardis so I spend most of my time on Sardis and Enid but since I live closer to Arkabutla, I am looking to learn that lake since I finally have a boat now....Love fishing the spring spawn but I am here to see what I can learn about catching them at other times of the year and particularly tips on trolling. I look forward to seeing what I can learn here.
How do. Just listen to me and you'll be a'ite.
Wannabe...
