Even if I have to sit in the back of the boat ! Got back from fall camp yesterday. It was such a great time.. . My husband drug me down there and I was not sure who I was going to meet. Met alot of nice people . We stayed next to Big Blue and Jerkin Meat. So I had to go back to work to get some rest... hahahaha
Was nice meetin you and Tush, hope to see yall at more of these and the FJ's too.
Trish....glad you came to camp with Tush and glad you had a good time.....hope you two come and participate in the FJ's and for sure...Spring Crappie Camp. :)
Howdy,
I've lurked for a few weeks without a username and I suppose it's time to sign up and introduce myself. I grew up fishing in Central Florida, mostly saltwater, but we'd get out and catch crappie and bream when the weather was right. After moving to Memphis, I hung up the rods for a little bit. I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I managed to sell my Go-Devil and pick up an outboard for my 16x54 jon and I'm about to start rigging it for dual purpose hunting and fishing. I'm sure I'll have some questions about trolling motors and depth finders before it's all over. This seems to be a very friendly board and I'll do what I can to contribute when I can.
Take Care.
I am from Illinois. Crappie fishing is my favorite. I have fished salt water, sharks, Grouper, Snapper, Grunts, and yellowtail in the Florida Keys for 30 years. Scuba diver since 1972. I have been fishing Miss. for over 15 years. I started Tunica Cut with single pole. Seen people trolling. Started trolling crappie. Love trolling. I have trolled alll the big lakes, Like Arkabutla best. I have pulled cranks, side drift, cranks on the front. slow troll shallow, and deep troll fast just depends on the time of year and what Lake. I like trying different hooks, jigs, baits, and line setups.
Welcome aboard Illskifftroller glad to have you with us.
I am from Byram, MS. I was addicted to bass fishing and fished many tournaments all over the south. I haven't caught a bass on purpose in about 5 years. Totally addicted to "slingin' slabs" now. I fish mostly at Chotard/Albermarle and I am also learning the Rez. I look forward to seeing ya'll on the lake.
Welcome to the board my friend. I also used to fish bass tournaments all over the south. I have to admit now that I have missed out some by not chasing these crappie down. I too fish Chotard and Eagle some. Mostly I am on the Rez tho. You will see another local guy on here named DonDon, watch out for him...just kidding there DD. Also local to the Rez on here is Majflyboy, EZ Pole, DoubleGobble, crappiehoilic ,mchappy, and fishing buddy to name a few off the top of my head. You will enjoy this board I think....I sure have!!!
Welcome aboard Slinger. The rez is one tough cookie at time for sure. If you see a good looking guy in a white bay boat with a blue bimini top laid back, hollar at me. Oh, if there's more than one white bay boat, I'll be the one CATCHING fish LOL
Newbie here..i am from hernando,ms born and raised. I have crappie fished for as long as i can remember. I mainly jig fish from the banks, riding lake bottoms on fourwheeler and wading.will be looking for a boat soon to start fishing from. I am a bulta man mainly have been spoiled on the hogs that come out of there, but will be fishing sardis and enid once i make up my mind on wish boat i am going buy, wareagle 2072 centerconsole or grizzly 2072 centerconsole.as i do duck hunt in winter months.

Just so you know, don't listen to anything Wannabe says and you'll be fine.
Ha! Beat ya'll to it this time didn't I.
Wannabe...
Thanks for the the welcome. To for worn you i like to talk a little smack every once in awhile but all in fun, by my readings before i signed up . Looks like this wannabe does to. As my late grandmother would say about me was (son you are big as a house, look like a serial killer, and after all that you anit nothing but a big teddybear with a heart of gold).i have always been a big man and keep my head shaved and a full beard, thats what she said make me look like a serial killer.but away whats this spring and fall camp about
Iffen you bald, you might be kin to a couple around here. LOL.
My Grandmother only had 2 sayings she directed at me:
"I suhwanny" - No. that's how she spelled it. Really.
"Well I'll just be John Brown".
Mostly, both were followed by hands on hips, looking at the ground and shaking her head slowly back and forth. Yeah, I never understood that either.
Look like a serial killer huh. U like to fish spillways? Got a little problem going with a certain claim jumper from up your way that I may need some help with......course, he sorta looks like a serial killer too...but I don't think he's ever been convicted. Maybe ya'll could ugly on each other and keep him busy until I get set up.
Wannabe...
We have a get together each Spring and one in the Fall . We camp at one of the Big 4 (Sardis ,Enid,Grenada orButtla) and have a tourney , get together and eat at least once or twice and generaly just get to know each other. We normally post on the OFF TOPIC board with a Sticky where and when. So make plans to try to come on down.
Will look into that satdoc. Who might that be wannabe , giving you problems up this way
BN, that's you Big Nasty (we usually shorten up names on here), WB, wannabe, don't give anyone any problems, he gives EVERYONE problems, but he's a really swell guy, just don't say it out loud. We have lots of fun on here and the get-to-gethers are a must if you intend to get to know us. Be there, check the schedule at the top of the stickeys.
will do
Started perch jerkin in 2006 just cause my duck hunting buddy wouldn't shut up about it. Had tried it 30+ years ago in Pelahatchie Bay and didn't see what all the fuss was about being a bass fisherman. Got hooked and haven't looked back. Fish the Rez a fair amount, across the river from Natchez. Live in the Summit area so Percy Quin is real close, just gets a lot of pressure. It's a small lake but has produced 3+lbs. My largest came from there and was 2.25. I push early in the season then move to the tops and feel around. Picked up some crank baits this week and going to try that this year. Tried pulling last year a little without any success even at my brothers insistence that it will change my world. He is Harley2004 in TN. Will keep an eye out for you fellas on the water.
Welcome aboard man. The Rez is also my home lake. Love me some Pelahatchie bay when it's right!!!!

Hello. I am Bruce and am starting to get back into fishing after about a 10 year layoff. I fished mostly Bass in my previous fishing life. Most of my spinnerbaits are single spin colorado spinnerbaits. I see you can't hardly get that anymore. Boat Launch fees were about 3 bucks when I had quit. In matter of fact the launch fee was introduced at the Corp lakes about the time I quit.
This time I wanted to try Crappie fishing for awhile. Looking forward to sharing information.
