I have fished many times with some poles rigged with minnows and some without. Unscientifically I believe the minnows outperform overall. Either way, when one starts hitting I switch em all.

Jigs and a nibble is all I use. I have not used minnows for years and I catch all I want.
At Tadpoles last week, I witnessed something I had never seen previously. The minnow girl dips a bunch of minnows out of the vat with her net, then reaches in the net and grabs a handful of minnows, and then begins opening her fist a finger at a time as she counts how many minnows fall into my bucket. Sad is all I can say, sad! I held my tongue because she obviously has a boss.

Hahahaha my mail lady doesn't even like bringing my mail sometimes. Lol
I've been thinking about running a whiskey still coil through a refrigerator and pumping water through it to cool it down. Anyone ever tried such as this? I figured I'd install an in line filter too if I did it. Obviously haven't worked out the details.
Nats thanked you for this post
Sounds like we have the mail lady. Mine won't even wave at me...OK your idea sounds good, and here is another, fill a regular old cooler full of ice, and open the drain, stack the old cooler on top of your vat, cold water will drain into the minnow tank keeping them cool...
I bought some this past weekend for $1.25/dzn.
what are minnows? havn't used any for years and have kept my freezer full but then I am not a tournament guy. put on nibbles when things slow that I have soaked in fish scent, seems to be good alternative. not opposed to it but they are such a pain to keep alive and near T hill hard to find.
