Thread: New boat ideas

I like that the front deck doesn't extend all the way to the console and you have some room down in the boat to move around or mount rod holders for pulling or long lining. The multi-species deep V's have it behind the cockpit where the rear deck would be on a bass boat but most bass boats these days extend the front deck all the way to the console now and have big rear decks with no room behind the seats, the layout in your boat seems to have the best of both worlds and in a bass hull rather than a deep v. Tracker used to make a similar aluminum boat that was like a hybrid between a deep v multi-species and a bass boat that I always liked, I think it was called Tournament v18 All Fish. It was a v hull but not very deep, like a hybrid of a deep v and a mod v.

I like them a lot but just haven't found THE one that has it all for me. A lot of models don't have much for a front deck and seem to have a compartment in the very nose which seems more of a problem than a benefit. I do know that the people who have bay boats love them and will not have anything else. The inter-costal ranger boats are also something to consider. Basically a bass rig with rubber on the decking instead of carpet.

I guess I am a little lucky as I have a champion walleye boat rigged for crappie and also a tracker deep v targa v18 that is rigged for crappie and striper. The champion is the better crappie boat all around. It is not effected by the wind and tracks straight and has plenty of storage. The tracker I like better for pulling as we sit side by side and fish our rods out the side and some out the back. I also have the tracker rigged to night stalk. If I had to choose one I would take the glass boat just because it handles rough water better and is a lot prettier boat.

When talking glass boats 90% are going to be bass style boats. By design they are going to have quite a bit of taper to the bow. So when you put 3 across seating close enough to fish off the front it is going to squeeze down the area your sitting in. Even some of your Bay style boats have a pretty narrow front end. That is the Wareagle Blackhawk center console and that SeaArc ProCat 200. I think that ProCat with 2 aditonal seat bases in the rear and 3 on the front would be a outstanding boat for every type of crappie fishing. Friend has the Blackhawk with 140 suzukie and it's more than enough motor and lots of room for several people to fish.

Agree the Sea arks are wider but thier sides are so damn tall. THey would catch alot of wind in my opinion. They also are very deep so their draft depth could be an issue in our style of fishing particularily in the spring. I love the interior layouts tho for sure.

Love that interior layout. Not a fan of ALL front deck. I like the bit of floor room you have in front of consoles. How much was that rig?
