Depends on the situation, out of the boat an 11 foot Sam Heaton is hard to beat unless I am the second man then a 12 footer. If I am wading then a fairly stiff 10 or 11 foot pole is what i want to get em out ot the brush and if I am walking a creek bank I want a 16 foot BGJP, I know it sound crazy but ask Goodtime how well it works.

For single poling by myself it's the 11' Sam Heaton rear seat model, hands down, voting over, don't care what anybody else says.

jigging out of my jon boat a 10 ft pole is fine.I save all my old slip rings and turn all mine into rear seats. put on a zebco t11 and I am set. Big water out of bigger boat a longer pole works better. Well, it doesn't work better but you can just handle it more easily.

I fish with 11 ft bnm's bucks custom crappie rod. It has a rear seat and cork handle. Have tinkered with other rods and the tips just don't stand up to this rod. Breaking tips chaps my butt. Late spring in the thickets you need a tough rod. I use this rod at all times. I promise u will not be disappointed.
