My holders sit around three to four feet above the surface of the water, I've been pulling pretty much in the same range 130- 150 for about two months. I really don't think that the height of my rods in my boat is making that much difference to where my baits are running in the water. I run my center rod with the tip pointed up because it seems to help me detect the bite better on that rod. I let it out to the same depth as the other rods that are positioned lower and closer to the surface of the water and I seem to catch just as many on that rod. I understand the logic and thinking but I really don't think that I will make much difference.
