Wappapello in Southeast MO has good size generally. 2 pounders are not uncommon. It's only problem is, it's a small lake, 8600 acres and its just about the only game in town. Truman Lake is huge and gives up generous amounts of fish in the 12-15 inch range. However I can drive to Sardis in half the time it takes to get to Truman.
The problem with Southeast Missouri is the lack of places to fish. Besides Wappapello, you can drive to Reelfoot or Mississippi.
Well, there you go, question answered why you see so many Missouri boats on the big 4. I also agree with the statement made earlier that it is best to use the ramps where there is traffic, just too many druggies and nuts out there today besides the red neck idot who may cut your tires. If you don't think that is true, try getting lost in the great city of Memphis and wind up in the wrong section of town. I am in much need of feeling the thump of a good crappie on the line and then the taste of fresh crappie on the table.
