Ahhhhh, and here I thought you guys were going walleye fishing. Then, suddenly, without warning, Kev does a 180 and decides to take you Steelhead fishing! Nice!!!!!!

As for warmers: Two tricks,
1, go buy some of those ZIPPO hand warmers. You probably had some when you hunted the UP. They work awesome wet or dry and will last you about 10 hours.
2. Menards was selling electric warmers last year. You charge them with a standard USB charger. They too work wet or dry and last about 6 hours. For hunting, I like the electric (no smell) for fishing, I like the Zippo and the fluid (simply because I already have them).

The hand warmer packs are a great backup but they don't work when wet. They also don't put alot of heat through a pair of gloves. On the plus side, you can put them in your gloves.

Another trick: Purchase the toe warmers with the peel and stick adhesive. Stick them inside your thin gloves so they are on the BACK of your hand. Dextarity is lost through the carpals and metacarpals and blood flow runs through the back of the hand. I started doing this years ago while steelhead fishing. I only wear a thin pair of glove liners. Manzella has been my go to pair for years however, this last year I switched to GILL liners and absolutely love them.

Nice Steelie!
