    I'm in!

I'm not much for spudding on and off the ice......I like it to be thick enough to support a Mack truck

When I was a volunteer search and rescue diver for Delta and Schoolcraft counties, we did a good amount of ice rescue training.
One drill was to be fully suited up in a ice survival suit and begin walking on thin ice until you broke through. Then the re enactment scene began, a "passerby/dive team member" would make the call for help and that would bring (in a few minutes) two fully suited up dive team members who would save you, by either a aluminum extension ladder, a small jon boat or a rope. Every member got their opportunity of walking on the thin ice and being rescued.

Another part of ice training was spending 2- 30 minute dives under the ice in full gear, attempting to locate victim (there was none, just doing the drill correctly was the reason) then after 30 minutes the ground crew would grab your tethered rope after you pulled hard on it 3 times as a signal you found the body.....and run across the surface of the ice as fast as they can.....bringing diver and victim to the triangular hole for rescue.

Being under the ice is a very beautiful sight when in full suit and scuba.......not something I want to do without it.

Just saw where an ice fisherman in SW Michigan went through and died yesterday.

He's a good lad! Just don't tell anybody how deadly they are or everyone will be using them. I could have hooked you up with some at a discounted rate, I think I picked up around 75 when Gander left Lansing and didn't pay more than 1.75 and as little as 1.06. Now we need to get him on the ice and catch a few fish with them.

My sons and their families as well as my dad will be coming over for Christmas morning breakfast in a couple hours. I always make “Farmers Casserole” it’s easy to make and feeds everyone.
Presents were exchanged yesterday.....and already a few plastic failures in the toy department. Apparently Tonka trucks aren’t as tough as they used to be.

I hit a home run with the gifts I got for Judy......gift cards it was, but to a nail salon and Ulta (make up store) and the usual stocking stuffers.

Coffee is on, Soon the house will be filled with the happiness that Christmas morning brings.

    Merry Christmas to you all.

My son will be here soon, my youngest daughter and her boyfriend whenever, she's always late. My oldest daughter and her husband went away for Christmas, to Jordan. We make breakfast hobo pies in the wood stove for breakfast and do a gift exchange. Around noon we go to my sisters for the family Christmas dinner that is loaded with great food, lots of little ones running around and big ones enjoying the Christmas cheer. Merry Christmas to all.
