Keep a eye on the weather and I'm in......actually Just Judy just told me last night I need to get some more "fishing fix time in" she knows I'm an addict and is enabling me.

In other things happening around the homestead.....I drug that 10x16 chicken coop I built about 10 years ago back to my "swamp" cleaned it all out, should make a nice deer blind in time after some insulation and tounge& groove panneling added. If Jr. can get his hands on a skytrak some weekend I'll build a elevated platform so he can hoist it up there. Should make a nice warm, cozy place the grandkids can join me in.

Halloweens over, no more Super Snowflake till next year. Now we have a lean, mean, red killing machine. Red Rambo. Those deer should be shaking in their spots.

I only tease you cause I like you. I also like jerky. Hey, buddy, want to go fishing?

Steve, what do they call a 10x16 in the UP? Portable ice house? Mansion?

    M66 & I 96, its called Shirley Back Room..........

About as elaborate as we ever got was 4x8 shack with sliding windows made of wood from the cut out and a Mr Buddy heater between one of the boys and I. It was located about 5 feet off the ground.

Lots of great times with my boys crammed into that blind.
We no longer hunt there, and the blind was destroyed (Long Story)

One of the greatest memories was Gramps in his underwear and slippers taking a picture of the kid with his first Buck.

I got a picture some where of that, we all bust up laughing, and then start to talk about "Deer Camp"

Miss those times, that place, & some of the people, but attitudes of some and age of others, dictated it was time to move on.......

My youngest Son never got a picture of Gramps taking his picture, he has never forgotten it either......

The day we (I) decided to no longer hunt there, was the day before the youth hunt. I did some quick scouting, and took the youngest son out that next morning, and he got a nice 8 point.

He has never forgotten that either.......

Pictures of said chicken coop, still need to level it up. Not sure how far I’ll get with it this year but it’s a start and far better than sitting on a stump. Sits right on the edge of my field with a good view out.

I bought a Mr. Heater recently at Dicks, 9.99 marked off from 39.97. This was a timely purchase.

A couple chairs, table, heater and I’ll have my napping space!

I tried giving it away, no one could haul it away.

So I guess it worked out for the best, now if Jr. Can hoist it up on a elevated platform will be the next hurdle.

Rich and Famous.....nah, long on brawn maybe a bit short on brains....
