Fiveeyes: Anyone can be an Internet rockstar and provide reports ONLY when they catch fish. Takes a real fisherman to post reports when they have limited or no success.
I will however agree that 6 inch pliers might not taste very good on two pieces of bread. No matter how much Koops Arizona Heat mustard you put on them!
LOL.
At least you went out. I suck at getting my boat in the water lately and that's a fact!
Yup.
Thanks all..my brother is here now( lives in Fla.), so no fishing last two days..will get out after he leaves today to try and redeem myself :pray suggestions on new baits for camp would be appreciated, seeing how the stuff I have ain't working :yikesLOL..all kidding aside, the lake I fish is a tough one..very clear, and lots of traffic..raining now..see you Thurs.
OK been looking at a route to get to camp..Rick, I see you are close so asking you..plan on using M106 from I94..to Williamsville..to Unadilla..to the park..sound OK to you? never been in that area
five, I'm coming across I-96 to M52 down to Stockbridge and 106 to Williamsville Rd. the same way you are talking. Unless that is Rich doesn't recommend that for a 74 foot rig.
I have trouble also, but I type slow. Something with the spellcheck maybe?
Both those routes are good. I drive that route all the time.
As for baits, I really like big bite twister tails ones with an orange tail or chartreuse. I also love their 2 inch shad. For heavy weeds, charlie brewer sliders.
Rick..e-mail from camp ground route as follows..from Chelsea..M-52 to Werkner rd, cross Territorial, becomes Hadley rd, go to Kaiser rd, turn rt to camp..better, worse, same, just different? I can follow US-12 to M-52 south of Chelsea, as well as what I already asked about. thanks
No difference really.
Hey five, I suck right along with you. Just got back from Long & Grand Lakes. Fished 3 days, Sandy & my Son & Daughter-in-law all caught fish, I lost a nice Perch the first day and never caught a fish the whole trip. The rest of them got a total of 18 keeper Perch, 3 short Walleye, and one 17" Walleye. On a worse note, Sandy is really in pain with her back. Going to try and see an Orthopedic Surgeon on Mon. Not sure how it will all shake out. Will post any news.
Hope all will be well with Sandy's back, that is most important. I hear ya' on the catching. thanks again, Rick
Will be praying Sandy's back issue can be remedied quickly. Back pain is no fun.
Just where do you live Five?
Sandy got in to see the Dr. this morning and she sent her to St Jo Hospital in Tawas for x-rays. They took 5. Were waiting for a call from the Dr. now. The only comfort she can get is sitting down, anything standing on her feet or walking, really hurts.
God bless her. We'll pray for pain relief.
Dang, you could spit out your back door into Indiana! I see why Route 12 would be your pick to camp.
When it rains it pours..went fishing yesterday, well I tried to. About half way there I see smoke/vapor coming from near tailpipe :yikes. I pull over to check, looks like a water leak, not good. I called wife to bring some water, as I wait side the road. Upon further inspection, not water but diesel fuel! I headed for home spewing fuel all over truck and boat. I called and cancelled wifes run. I made it home, unhooked boat and went to the diesel shop. Turned out to be a return line came loose, took the tech about30 min. to fix.WHEW! I used a quarter tank of fuel to go about twenty miles! Spent the next few hours at the car wash and home cleaning. Fingers crossed. Hope your day went better. bill
A few years ago right before I was set to leave for a 2 week trip down to the AR and MS crappie camps, I came out of work and noticed some drops under my truck below the drivers door. Upon closer inspection/smell it was diesel. I poked my head under, and saw my fuel lines in a sad state of affairs. Luckily the shop was able to fit me in and I had them replace all the lines to be sure.
Wish I was there. Unfortunately, I'm sitting in Slab's back yard (North Chicago) training a new hire. I should be on the road about 4am tomorrow morning.
When mom and dad showing up?
I'll be down tomorrow evening. Outa work about 4, and have one stop to make on the way.
They aren't camping. They are staying at my house. They are actually there now.
We should be over on Friday afternoon for Liarsclub.
I don't know how people live in this place! It isn't for me. I do however wish I would have brought a fishing rod. There is a 2 acre pond here at their office and nobody has fished it.
Of course, I would go buy one, but no one seems to know where someone would go to purchase something like that. They can however point me to the nearest GAP store, men's clothing outlet, jewelry, shoe store, and dinning establishment. Takes me 35 minutes to get from my hotel to the office (7 miles away). Conversely, it takes me 30 minutes to get from my house in Michigan to MY office in Lansing (and I drive 35 miles!)
All the priorities I saw included the usage of electronic devices... and not the kind that sit on the bow or helm of a boat.
From my first camp to this Attachment 215387 an area called The Shallows..south end of Tahquamenon Bay..be home in a couple of days
Looks relaxing!
Very relaxing!! Just sitting on the beach, recharging..love it UP there. Was looking to fish when we got home..not.. head cold, sinus' going crazy, feel terrible..oh well, it is cold and windy here anyway..will take a few days to get better, hopefully.
I think I need to move south for the winter.
Hurricanes and rain!! No thanks. Lived in NC for 2 1/2 years and weathered my fair share of those.
I got chased outa Biloxi back in '74 by Carmen while on TDY at Keesler AFB. Got an impromptu leave up to Tenn for a few days to let her clear out. Then battled 7-9' of standing (not drifting) snow back up in south Omaha the winter of '75 and in the spring we watched a F5 tear through Omaha. Crazy weather sometimes.
