I have a 2004 Yamaha VMAX V150TLRD Outboard that sat all winter and was cranked up periodically throughout with no problems(its practically a new motor). I took it out at the start of the year went to crank it up and it sputtered and wouldnt hold a idle. It would start after alot of cranking on it and then the rpms would fall and die.Sometimes it would idle for a bit then sputter out. I got it to run enough to take a few rides to try to clear it out thinking it might of just been carboned up, but it just dies after i left off the gas.. I think it might be a gas issue seeing that this motor hasnt ever had any problem with it and has been taken care of. I see alot of guys on forums saying check the water separator for slime etc. I cant find the water separator, not sure if my motor has 1? I checked the plugs also and there fouled out after all the cranking and flooding i did trying to keep it running. I Really couldnt find much information or help. I dont want to take it in to the shop yet without trying to fix the problem myself. Any Advice or help would be appreciated. By the way its my fathers motor and hes disabled and cant really be messing with it so i really dont have a ton of knowledge on outboards so bare with me. Thanks
