They dont call them Bandits for nothing. Georgia actually lifted ALL regs on raccoons and even encourage the capture and demise of all of them that you can catch so the nesting birds, turkeys in particular, gets a better chance of survival. The dog-proof traps certainly gets the job done.

I'm looking good this morning as my trap is empty. I didn't keep a total count of how many I caught in the yard but its a lot. Didn't try shrimp yet. With the salinity so high shrimp are super cheap here, fill the freezer with a cast net.

I have used the plastic Easter eggs that we use of the grandkids Easter egg hunt. Coons love eggs and the white ones are visible at night. A little sardine juice helps lure them in by the smell.

    Default WE'RE BACK...............!

So so much work to do I sleep 2 hours and lay in bed a hour thinking thru the next task. You hear stuff but what was it? Our feral cat my wife tamed keeps most stuff out of the yard. The Fox on the wall here was one exception where I intervened due to the cat was still a kitten. Lately she has made a different sound and I see stray cats we didn't have before. Well they are getting carried away around here. I set the trap because I saw a different cat on the porch but when we heard the trap door close the cat I was trying to catch was sitting outside the trap with a dumb look on it's face. Since my wife has fed this feral cat from a kitten it has grown to close to 20 pounds. One jump and its 8ft up a tree, powerful just powerful. No more furry critters, moles, mice, all gone so I like this cat. Well I went out to see what was in the trap expecting another Racoon but no, a different cat. The Trap is Back!

Feral cats could get a dirt nap. If it is a neighbors cat a dose of skunk scent sometimes helps them stay away.

This is no neighbor's cat its mean. I do feed a recently passed neighbor's cat that nobody can catch. I can, I can pick it up when it's hungry. The cat in the trap showed up a couple of weeks ago. I have been feeding ours inside since. There are 2 more to catch that I know of.
