Its not hard to see the telltale curly cue when line fails in the knot, have seen it several times with mono and big river catfish. But never with a uni knot or palomar knot and fluorocarbon crappie fishing. With the caveat that all I use is Seagar red label.

Yes, I use Seaguar red label, and all my knots were breaking right at the Surgeon's loop knot that I use with double droppers on a slip float.
