I don't like braid , my 3 cents

braid has it's problems, the biggest one for me is remembering to tighten the eye of the jig or hook when I tie a new one on. The braid I use is so thin that it will sometimes slip through the space in the eye when fighting a fish if you forget to tighten the eye with pliers to remove the gap. I've lost some nice fish through that memory lapse.

And usually the hook will straighten or break before the braid will break when you hang up.
