We eat crappie on a weekly basis almost. Within the regulations set forth by the state, it's seldom that I release any fish. We keep any crappie over 11", period. State minimum is 10". I do give fish to neighbors, family and a few friends. We also have several large fries during the year, and I have cooked fish for my employees about once a year.
The biologist says they will die in 4 to 7 years anyway, they might as well pay the price to my fillet knife and enjoy the best eating fish anywhere with family and friends!
